High Performance Computing in the Arts and Humanities

Abstract: This contribution provides a definition of High Performance Computing, and then considers the importance of the computing paradigm for the humanities. It identifies potential applications of HPC for the humanities, and factors in Canada that currently constrain effective humanist exploitation of HPC.
